Victor Osimhen Injury Update That Will Delight Nigeria Fans, Rohr
Published: February 12, 2020There is good news concerning the availability of Lille striker Victor Osimhen for next month's Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Sierra Leone.
French sports daily L'Equipe reported on Tuesday night that the Nigeria international should be back in training on Wednesday morning at Domaine de Luchin.
Osimhen had been rated as doubtful for Sunday's Ligue 1 meeting against Marseille after he was stretchered off the pitch in the 79th minute of the win at Angers SCO due to a muscle complaint.
The latest update from France will be sweet music to the ears of manager Gernot Rohr and Super Eagles fans as Osimhen is a certainty to be named on the roster to face the Leone Stars.
Statistically speaking, Osimhen is having his best season for club and country since turning professional, scoring 21 goals combined in 38 games and has produced seven assists in total.
After dazzling for Sporting Charleroi last term, the Ultimate Strikers product earned a move to Lille and he has adapted quickly in France, playing all the games contested by the club in Ligue 1 with the exception of the trip to PSG, which he missed due to accumulated bookings.
