Former Arsenal Striker Akpom Sets New Personal Record As PAOK Are Held By Xanthi
Former Arsenal striker Chuba Akpom has set a new personal record for goals scored in a single-season after finding the net in PAOK's 1-1 draw with AO Xanthi in the Greek Super League on Sunday, allnigeriasoccer.com reports.

The Super Eagles hopeful curled a brilliant effort past goalkeeper Carlos Abad to open the scoring after four minutes but the visitors were denied three points when Lisgaras powered home a header to make it 1-1.

Akpom's strike against Xanthi was his ninth goal in all competitions this term, with seven of them coming in the Super League, one in the Champions League qualifiers and the other in the Kypello Elladas.

His previous best single-season scoring record was set in his maiden season in Greece, ending the campaign with eight goals.

Akpom ended his loan spell with Hull City with 7 goals in 41 matches in the 2015-2016 season and scored 6 goals in 16 games at Sint-Truidense VV in Belgium.

The former England youth international is hoping to play for the Super Eagles after pledging his international allegiance to the three-time African champions.
