Bordeaux Winger Samuel Kalu Receives Nigeria Call-Up; SC Heerenveen, CSKA Sofia Dazzlers Snubbed
Published: March 04, 2020Through a statement on their official website, French Ligue 1 club Bordeaux have confirmed that their number ten, Samuel Kalu has received a call-up to the Nigeria national team for their upcoming international matches against Sierra Leone.
Super Eagles coach Gernot Rohr has kept faith with Kalu despite the winger being largely inactive since the second half of the season began.
Since the start of this calendar year, the former KAA Gent star has started only two of the ten games contested by Bordeaux in all competitions, having fallen out of favour with manager Paulo Sousa.
Kalu's teammate at Bordeaux, Josh Maja has apparently not been invited for the double header against the Leone Stars as Les Girondins were silent in that regard.
Meanwhile, allnigeriasoccer.com can exclusively report SC Heerenveen dazzler Chidera Ejuke will not make his international debut this month as he has been omitted from the Super Eagles squad list set to be announced by the Nigeria Football Federation.
Ejuke has been in blistering form of recent for his Dutch club, having a hand in five goals (3 goals, 2 assists) in his last six matches in the Eredivisie.
Another attack-minded player not listed for the Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers is CSKA Sofia star Viv Solomon-Otabor, who was a non-playing substitute in the friendly against Brazil last October.
