Super Eagles Strikers Osimhen, Samuel Kalu, Maja, Simon Given A Break Until Further Notice
Published: March 13, 2020Four Nigeria international strikers, namely Victor Osimhen, Samuel Kalu, Josh Maja and Moses Simon, will not feature in the French Ligue 1 until further notice due to the coronavirus disease.
In response to to the health crisis linked to Covid-19, the LFP's Administrative Council unanimously decided on Friday 13 March to suspend the Ligue 1 Conforama and Domino's Ligue 2 championships immediately and until further notice, writes the Ligue 1 on their official website.
The Ligue de Football Professionnel (LFP) decided to postpone the matches to curb the epidemic, protect the most vulnerable and avoid travel.
Osimhen's Lille were due to travel to Brest, Simon's Nantes were hosting Nimes while Rennes were guests to Bordeaux on matchday 29 before the games were postponed as a precaution.
The Super Eagles number nine has appeared in 27 matches in the Ligue 1 this term, Moses has 26 appearances to his name, Maja has been involved in 21 and Kalu 20.
The English Premier League has already been postponed and the same goes for the Italian Serie A, Spanish La Liga, Champions League and Europa League matches.
