Top Five Highest Scoring Nigerians In Europe : Only One Super Eagles Player Makes List
Published: March 18, 2020The final installment in allnigeriasoccer.com's highest scoring Nigerian players in Europe by position brings you the best scoring forwards in the top-tier leagues.
The top five highest scoring Nigerian players are all classed as strikers and surprisingly only one Super Eagles player in Victor Osimhen made the top five.
Albanian-based star Kyrian Nwabueze of KF Laci has found the back of the net 17 times from 25 games, making him the unofficial Nigerian goal king in Europe.
The 27-year-old was very consistent in the first half of the season, racking up 14 goals from his first fifteen appearances.
In second place is Heracles Almelo's Cyriel Dessers, who has scored 15 goals in 26 games, and is the leading marksman in the Netherlands top-flight.
Former MSV Duisburg striker Kingsley Onuegbu has hit
14 goals in 23 matches for Cypriot First Division club Nea Salamis and
the highlight of his season so far is undoubtedly the hat-trick he scored against
Olympiakos Nicosia on matchday 14.
While Lille youngster Victor Osimhen is Nigeria's top scorer in the big five European Leagues, he's ranked fourth overall with 13 goals to his name in 27 games in the French Ligue 1.
Completing the top five is Rio Olympics bronze medalist Sadiq Umar who has scored 11 goals in 22 matches for Partizan Belgrade in the Serbian Super Liga.
Talking about his goals alone is doing him a disservice as the former Roma man has provided 11 assists, making him the only Nigerian player in Europe to reach double figures for goals and assists this season.
