Top Five Bundesliga Players With Worst Disciplinary Record : Two Super Eagles Invitees Listed
Published: March 20, 2020Of the top five players with the worst disciplinary record in the German Bundesliga, two were recently invited to the Nigeria National Team for the postponed 2021 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers with Sierra Leone.
Using stats from Transfermarkt, allnigeriasoccer.com can reveal that Cologne right-back Kingsley Ehizibue has the second worst disciplinary record in the German top-flight.
One point is assigned to a yellow card, three points to a second yellow card leading to red card and five points to a straight red card.
Former Netherlands U21 international Ehizibue has accumulated 10 points, having received five yellow cards and one red.
The former PEC Zwolle captain was yellow carded against Borussia Dortmund, Schalke, Fortuna Düsseldorf, Union Berlin and Bayer Leverkusen and took the walk of shame in Cologne's 4-0 loss to Bayern Munich on game week 5.
Ehizibue was unavailable for selection against Hertha BSC and Eintracht Frankfurt, the only two games he has missed this season, as a result of card offenses.
Only thirteen players have been shown more yellow cards than Super Eagles left-back Jamilu Collins in the German top-flight this term.
The Paderborn star has received six yellow cards and a second yellow which led to his dismissal against SC Freiburg.
With nine points accumulated, Collins is the player with the joint-fifth worst disciplinary record along with Dominik Kohr (Frankfurt), Stefan Posch (Hoffenheim), Konrad Laimer (RB Leipzig), Robert Andrich and Keven Schlotterbeck (both Union Berlin), Jorge Meré (Koln), Ridle Baku (Mainz), Jonathan Tah (Leverkusen), Marcel Tisserand (Wolfsburg) and Kaan Ayhan (Fortuna Dusseldorf).
