Rohr Convinces Bundesliga Star To Choose Nigeria Over Netherlands, Germany
Super Eagles coach Gernot Rohr has opened up on the invitation of Cologne right-back Kingsley Ehizibue to the national team for the Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Sierra Leone last month, allnigeriasoccer.com reports.

Born in Munich to Nigerian parents twenty-four years ago, the former PEC Zwolle captain is qualified to represent Nigeria, his country of birth Germany as well as the Netherlands where he was raised.

Ehizibue's solitary international cap was for the Netherlands U21 team in an international friendly against Serbia on March 28, 2016, making him eligible to play for the Super Eagles without applying to FIFA for a change of association.

In an Instagram conversation with Colin Udoh, Rohr revealed that he met with Ehizibue early March to convince the defender to pledge his international future to Nigeria over Germany and Netherlands and the talks were positive.

The German added that Ehizibue has to obtain a Nigerian passport to be eligible to play for the Super Eagles.

Ehizibue used to share the same agent as Super Eagles right-back Tyronne Ebuehi, who became cap-tied to the three-time African champions at the 2018 World Cup.

It is known that Rohr had been tracking the progress of the Bundesliga star in the last four years, before he was handed a call-up for the AFCON qualifiers against Sierra Leone.
