Nigeria's Top Scorer In La Liga History Has No Regrets Not Playing In England; Hails Chukwueze
Published: April 14, 2020Former Villarreal striker Ikechukwu Uche has insisted that he has no regrets not playing in England when he was in the prime of his career.
Now 36 and unattached, the one-time Nigeria international is the highest scoring Nigerian in La Liga history with 43 goals combined for five different clubs namely Villarreal, Recreativo Huelva, Getafe, Real Zaragoza and Granada.
When asked if he had regrets not playing in England, Ikechukwu Uche said to Nigeria Info FM : "No, even though I had one or two offers back then. I cannot really go into details but I can remember I had offers from there but it didn't work out.
"When you play football you get offers from everywhere so if it didn't work out it means it wasn't real."

Ikechukwu Uche is confident that Samuel Chukwueze will be a success at Villarreal, adding that the Yellow Submarine have a reputation for developing young players.
"He is very good, everything is working very fast for him. Where he is it is obvious that he would get better, he would do well because it is one of the best teams at the moment in the Spanish League.
"They've had important players and like bringing up players from the second team and make them stars.
"He's doing well, he's growing. With the games he's been playing it shows he can get better," added Uche.
