Brighton Loanee Balogun Namechecks Three Of The Fastest Super Eagles Players
Published: April 22, 2020Brighton & Hove loanee Leon Balogun has highlighted the speed of players in the Super Eagles squad and namechecked himself, Henry Onyekuru, Oghenekaro Etebo and Moses Simon among the speed demons.
Nigeria were one of the best counter-attacking teams at the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations largely due to their pacy wingers and mobile midfielders.
Apart from being a pacy player, Balogun noted that he offers physicality to the Super Eagles back-line.
"It is good to hear comments about how I’m composed, calm, read the game because I have always been strong physically but had to work on those aspects of my game," Balogun said to FunnyBone in an Instagram conversation.
"I am fast, but people do not realize how fast Nigerian players actually are. Onyekuru, Simon, Etebo are phenomenally fast and I guess I have some good Nigerian genes".
Balogun has not featured for the Super Eagles since his appearance off the bench in a quarterfinal clash against South Africa at last year's Africa Cup of Nations.
