Barcelona Identify Super Eagles Striker As Plan B If They Fail To Land Inter Milan's Martinez
Published: April 24, 2020According to celebrated Spanish sports daily Mundo Deportivo, Barcelona have drawn up a list of potential targets should they fail in their attempt to sign Inter Milan striker Lautaro Martinez.
The Spanish champions are in the market for a number nine as a replacement for the ageing Luis Suárez and the Argentine who has a release clause of 111 million euros is their top priority.
The cheaper alternatives being considered by Barcelona are Victor Osimhen (Lille), Timo Werner (Red Bull Leipzig), Tammy Abraham (Chelsea), Alexander Isak (Real Sociedad) and Jonathan David (Genk) .
Having said that, the Nigeria international could also be expensive for Barcelona, with Lille higher-ups valuing him in the same bracket as their most expensive player sold, Nicolas Pepe but that was before the coronavirus outbreak.
The Blaugrana will be boosted by Osimhen's recent comment that he supported Barcelona when he was growing up and not their fierce rivals Real Madrid.
Chelsea, Manchester United and Napoli have been heavily linked with a move for the former Wolfsburg starlet in recent days.
The 21-year-old has made 38 appearances for Lille this season and has found the back of the net 18 times, including strikes against Chelsea and Valencia in the Champions League.
