Italian Football Pundit Cites Barcelona, Atletico Madrid Players As He Questions Osimhen's Price Tag
Published: May 27, 2020Italian football pundit Umberto Chiariello has questioned Victor Osimhen's price tag amid reports linking the Nigeria international with a summer move to Napoli.
Lille's top goalscorer for the 2019-2020 season was valued at more than eighty million euros before the coronavirus outbreak but a fee in the region of sixty million euros is being mooted as the current asking price for the 21-year-old.
Chiariello noted that two talented youngsters Barcelona's Ousmane Dembélé and Atlético Madrid's Joao Felix who both cost more than 100 million euros have not lived up to expectations since transferring to the Spanish clubs.
"Osimhen? Let's see if Coronavirus keeps this price. Then any guy who comes out is worth 30 to 50 million right away, but then we go to see that Dembele from Barcelona for more than 100 million did nothing, the same Joao Felix paid a fortune disappointed at Atletico Madrid," Chiariello told Canale 21via TuttoNapoli.
"When Higuain was purchased, Milik himself, although not a phenomenon, scores 20 goals in the season.
"Maybe Osimhen will score more than Cavani, but who can say it, is a player to be discovered ."
Osimhen has attracted interest from the likes of Barcelona, Real Madrid, Manchester United, Tottenham Hotspur and Chelsea ahead of the opening of the transfer window.
