Official : Ex-Nigeria U17 Captain Tijani Joins Red Bull Salzburg On Five-Year Deal
Published: July 16, 2020With a statement on their official website, Austrian Bundesliga champions Red Bull Salzburg have announced the signing of former Nigeria U17 international Samson Tijani.
As exclusively reported by allnigeriasoccer.com more than five months ago, Red Bull Salzburg have confirmed that Tijani has signed a five-year contract that will see him remain at the club until May 31, 2025.
The defensive midfielder has joined Red Bull Salzburg from Nigerian club Collins Edwin Sports Club.
Die Mozartstädter scouted the ex-Golden Eaglets skipper at the 2019 FIFA U17 World Cup before deciding to sign him.
"The 18-year-old feels particularly comfortable in the role of the six and is characterized by his dynamic and uncompromising style of play," Red Bull Salzburg stated.
"He has already displayed his quality in ten appearances for the U17s in his home country, with which he moved up to the semi-finals of the Africa Cup and the round of 16 of the World Cup."
Tijani joins Nigeria-eligible trio Karim Adeyemi, Bryan Okoh and Chukwubuike Adamu at Red Bull Salzburg.
