Bukayo Saka Now Listed As A First Team Player On Arsenal's Official Website
Published: July 21, 2020Anglo-Nigerian starlet Bukayo Saka has presumably been promoted to Arsenal's first team squad,allnigeriasoccer.com reports.
The Hale End Academy product was listed among the Academy players prior to signing a new multi-year deal with the Gunners but is now listed among the first team squad as a midfielder on Arsenal's official website, suggesting that he has been officially promoted ahead of the 2020-2021 season.
Saka will continue to wear an U18 shirt number, 77, for the remainder of the campaign but it is envisaged that he will be allocated a new squad number next term.
Fellow Hale End Academy graduate Alex Iwobi used to wear the number 45 kit before switching to number 17 after he was promoted to Arsenal's first team.
The 18-year-old Saka wore the number 87 when he made his professional debut against Vorskla back in the 2018-2019 season.
He is in line to play his 42nd game for Arsenal's first team since his debut when they take on Aston Villa in a Premier League match on Tuesday evening.
