Team Of The EFL Playoffs : Fulham's Onomah, Wycombe's Onyedinma Named In Midfield
Published: August 05, 2020Two Nigeria-eligible players, Fulham's Josh Onomah and Wycombe Wanderers' Fred Onyedinma. have been included in the English Football League Team of the EFL Playoffs after helping their clubs seal promotion, allnigeriasoccer.com reports.
To be eligible to be named to the Team of the EFL Playoffs, a player must have made a minimum of two appearances.
Fulham are back in the Premier League after a hard-fought 2-1 win against Brentford on Tuesday, while Wycombe Wanderers saw off Oxford United in the League One playoff final on July 13.
Both Onomah and Onyedinma started all the three matches played by Fulham and Wycombe Wanderers respectively, with the Lagos-born player missing only three minutes while the former Tottenham man was in action for 290 minutes.
In a 4-4-2 formation, the two Anglo-Nigerians were named in midfield, with Onomah starting in central midfield and Onyedinma deployed as a left-sided midfielder.
Onyedinma has experience of playing in the Championship, making 44 appearances in total during his Millwall dayS.
Onomah is in line to make his full Premier League debut next month after making 13 appearances off the bench as a Tottenham Hotspur player.
