Former Liverpool Striker Ngoo Rejects Two-Year Deal Offered By Albanian Champions
Published: August 06, 2020Allnigeriasoccer.com can exclusively report that Anglo-Nigerian striker Michael Ngoo has turned down a two-year deal offered by Albanian champions KF Tirana, paving the way for him to join a new club as a free agent in the summer transfer window.
The former England U20 international, who started against the Flying Eagles at the 2011 FIFA U20 World Cup, flew back to the United Kingdom on Wednesday after holding contract talks for two days, Monday and Tuesday, with the leadership of KF Tirana.
There was a small possibility that the Liverpool Academy product would have extended his three-year association beyond the end of the 2019-2020 season if they met his wage demands.
Ngoo had an outstanding season with KF Tirana, helping the club win the Super Liga and reach the final of the Albanian Cup.
The 27-year-old ended the season as the most decisive Nigeria-eligible player in the whole of Europe, with 13 goals and 15 assists from 31 league matches.
Clubs based in the United Arab Emirates, Poland, Turkey and Belgium are showing concrete interest in Ngoo.
