Anderlecht Miss Out As 'Little Ronaldo' Olawale Agrees Deal With Israeli Club, Subject To Medical
Published: August 10, 2020Allnigeriasoccer.com can exclusively report that Israeli club Hapoel Ra'anana are nailed-on favourites to sign former Nigeria U17 international Peter Olawale.
Nicknamed 'Little Ronaldo', the offensive all-rounder has already agreed personal terms with Hapoel Ra'anana and is set to travel to Israel in the coming weeks to undergo a routine medical ahead of his unveiling.
If he passes his medical examination with flying colours, Olawale would join Hapoel Ra'anana on a season-long loan from Tripple44 Football Club, with an option to buy inserted into the deal.
Should the striker impress the coaching staff at the end of the 2020-2021 season, a four-year deal keeping him at the second-tier club until June 2025 is on the table for him.
Several European clubs notably Anderlecht were interested in Olawale's signature and the Jupiler League powerhouse were prepared to invite him to Belgium for further assessment but the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic threw a spanner in the works.
Tripple44 Football Club owner Olatunji Samuel Okuku agreed to do a deal with Hapoel Ra'anana because the president of the Israeli club showed serious interest in the ex-Golden Eaglet.
Olawale scored on his competitive debut for Nigeria as the Golden Eaglets lost
2-1 to Australia at the 2019 FIFA U17 World Cup in Brazil.
