2019-20 Chelsea POTY Awards : Anjorin's Strike Nominated For Goal Of The Season
Published: August 14, 2020Faustino Anjorin is in the running to win Chelsea's Goal of the Season prize for the 2019-2020 campaign.
Chelsea have shortlisted twelve brilliant goals for the yearly accolade with the Anglo-Nigerian midfielder among the nominees
Anjorin is up against the exceptional United States international Christian Pulisic, who has been double nominated for his goals against Manchester City and Crystal Palace, Fikayo Tomori, Mason Mount, Lewis Bate, Willian, Sophie Ingle, N'Golo Kante, Olivier Giroud, Ross Barkley and Bethany England.
The England U19 international netted in the home and away matches against Leicester City in the Premier League 2 in the recently concluded season but his strike against the Foxes at the Electrical Services Stadium was more eye-catching.
Twenty-eight minutes into the contest, he came up with a moment of quality, opening the scoring with a low strike into the bottom corner after he was allowed space on the left flank.
The 18-year-old Anjorin tallied 11 goals in all competitions for Chelsea's youth teams last term, was their top scorer in the Premier League 2 and captained the FA Youth Cup side.
