Ex-Man Utd Starlet Ibrahim Sets Up Winning Goal In First Team Debut For Derby County
Published: August 20, 2020Teenage Nigeria-eligible youngster Ola Ibrahim has made his first team debut for his new club Derby County, albeit it came in a behind-closed-doors friendly, allnigeriasoccer.com reports.
Ibrahim was on the books of Manchester United until the end of the 2019-2020 season when he opted to leave the Old Trafford outfit.
The Rams beat League One side Peterborough United 2-1 in their first pre-season friendly staged at St George's Park on Wednesday, with three players of Nigerian descent handed game time by manager Phillip Cocu.
Ibrahim along with Republic of Ireland youth international Festy Ebosele and Josh Shonibare were introduced for the start of the second half.
Both sides were level at the break with Derby County's Louie Sibley
cancelling out Siriki Dembélé's opener scored after ninety seconds.
Early in the second half, fullback Ebosele scored the winning goal from close range, assisted by Ibrahim.
Ibrahim was assigned the number 55 jersey in his maiden appearance for Derby County's first team.
