Victor Moses In Line To Set New Nigerian Record Vs Sevilla; Arsenal Hero Kanu Failed In His Attempt
Published: August 21, 2020Former Nigeria international Victor Moses has taken to photo sharing social media platform, Instagram to reveal that he is ready for this evening's Europa League showpiece between Inter Milan and Sevilla at RheinEnergieStadion (Köln), allnigeriasoccer.com reports.
The Chelsea loanee is available for selection as he was spotted training with the rest of the Inter Milan players in their final workout held at Stadion Köln on Thursday.
Moses is targeting a Nigerian record in the final against Sevilla, which Arsenal hero Nwankwo Kanu did not manage to achieve before hanging up his boots.
A key player in Chelsea's Europa League winning squad of 2013, he would become the first Nigerian player to win the Europa League in its various guises with two different clubs if Inter Milan beat Sevilla on Friday.
Though a non-playing substitute, Kanu was a member of the Inter Milan squad that won the 1998 edition, beating Lazio 3-0 in the final, and two years later the striker failed in his attempt to win the competition a second time, with the favourites Arsenal losing on penalties to Galatasaray.
Sevilla are the most successful team in the Europa League with five titles to their name, while Inter Milan won the old UEFA Cup three times.
