Obi Mikel Endorses Chelsea's Move For Bayer Leverkusen Midfielder Havertz
Published: August 26, 2020English Premier League side Chelsea continue to work on a deal to sign Bayer Leverkusen young sensation Kai Havertz, a move that has been seemingly endorsed by one of the club's legends, John Obi Mikel.
The Germany international was in sensational form last season, contributing to 27 goals (18 goals, 9 assists) in 45 appearances across all competitions and could be leaving Bayer Leverkusen for Chelsea in exchange for 100 million euros, which would make him the most expensive acquisition in the club's history.
Mikel, who spent ten and a half years at Chelsea, has backed Havertz's proposed move to Stamford Bridge via Instagram.
"@kaihavertz29’s move to @chelseafc is expected to be completed in the coming hours! (per @fabriziorom) 🔵," 433 wrote on Instagram on Tuesday, accompanied with a picture of Havertz in a Chelsea kit.
The former Nigeria international departed Chelsea in January 2017 after winning the Premier League twice, the FA Cup four times, the League Cup twice, and the Champions League and Europa League.
