'I Like To Get Involved With The Play' - Napoli No. 9 Osimhen On The Type Of Striker He Is
Published: August 26, 2020Super Eagles star Victor Osimhen has described the type of striker he is, few days before he is expected to make his non-competitive debut for his new club Napoli in a three-team friendly tournament featuring Aquila and
Castel di Sangro.
The former Lille star is competing with Napoli's all-time top goalscorer Dries Mertens to play the role of a number 9 for the Blues in the upcoming season.
Osimhen explained that he likes to be involved in build-up play and his teammates are key to his success.
When asked at Wednesday's press conference the kind of striker he is, Osimhen said : "I like to get involved with the play. My team-mates are vital to me.
"My motto is never say never. Everything is possible in football. This is a squad of great players and it’s a big step up for me to be here.
"I’m focusing on doing everything I can for the team and helping my team-mates."
The 21-year-old Osimhen has moved to Napoli in exchange for 70 million euros, making him the most expensive African-born player in history.
