Super Eagles Hopeful Ejaria Set To End Six-Year Association With Liverpool
Published: August 27, 2020According to Berkshire Live, Anglo-Nigerian star Ovie Ejaria is set to join Championship club Reading FC permanently, bringing an end to a six-year association with Premier League champions Liverpool, whom he joined from Arsenal.
The Football League have given permission to the Royals to sign the 2017 England U20 World Cup-winning midfielder.
The deal had been help up because the EFL placed a soft transfer embargo on Reading which restricted the club from registering new players.
The report added that Ejaria will sign a four-year contract with Reading on Thursday and could feature in tomorrow's pre-season friendly against Tottenham Hotspur.
The 22-year-old has spent the last one and a half seasons at the Madejski Stadium, scoring four goals in 55 appearances across all competitions and has also taken in loan spells at Sunderland and Glasgow Rangers since his arrival at Anfield.
A former England U21 international, he has chosen to switch international allegiances from England to Nigeria and is one of the players on the radar of manager Gernot Rohr ahead of the resumption of the Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.
