Photo : Southampton Coach Hasenhuttl Checks Out Nigerian Winger Pre-Crystal Palace
Published: September 11, 2020Southampton Coach Ralph Hasenhuttl monitored at close quarters Nigerian winger Nathan Tella in his side's penultimate training session ahead of the trip to the English capital, where they face Crystal Palace in their opening match of the Premier League, allnigeriasoccer.com reports.
Training photos published by the official website of Southampton confirm that Tella trained with the first team on Thursday, September 10.
This is an important development bearing it in mind that Tella was not listed when the Saints confirmed their first team squad numbers for the 2020-2021 campaign seventeen days ago.
However, the former Arsenal schoolboy remains eligible to represent Southampton in the Premier League via the U21 list as he was born after January 1, 1999.
He will be seeking more game time in the new season after making his professional debut in a 3-0 win at Norwich City after lockdown and was an unused substitute in the following matches against Arsenal and Watford.
Tella committed his future to Southampton by signing a new three-year deal in July 2020.
