Wigan Athletic Dazzler Solomon-Otabor Leaves DW Stadium On Crutches, To Undergo Scan
Published: October 25, 2020Allnigeriasoccer.com understands that former Super Eagles invitee Viv Solomon-Otabor faces a spell on the sidelines after suffering what appears to be a serious injury in the opening minutes of Wigan Athletic's 1-1 draw with Plymouth Argyle in a League One clash on Saturday afternoon.
The Birmingham City Academy product had to make way for William Keane as early as the sixth minute and it was an injury-enforced substitution.
Solomon-Otabor, who this month extended his contract with The Latics, was in pain after falling awkwardly on his right ankle.
The 24-year-old is scheduled to undergo tests on Monday, October 26 to confirm the severity of his injury and estimated recovery time.
The initial prognosis is that the winger faces several weeks on the sidelines as his leg is in a cast and he left the DW Stadium on crutches after the game against the Pilgrims.
The flamboyant winger has been one of the standout players for Wigan in the new season, starting every single game contested by the club in the division while providing two assists.
Solomon's new short-term deal keeps him at Wigan Athletic until January 2021.
