Edozie Gets Revenge For Iheanacho, Adarabioyo, Dele-Bashiru As Man City Beat Chelsea FAYC Final
Published: November 03, 2020Manchester City have been crowned winners of the 2019-2020 FA Youth Cup after a hard-fought 3-2 victory against Chelsea at St George’s Park on Monday night, allnigeriasoccer.com reports.
Prior to yesterday's fixture, the Citizens had lost to Chelsea in three of the last five finals.
In 2014-2015, Kelechi Iheanacho was in the Manchester City side captained by Tosin Adarabioyo beaten 5-2 by Chelsea over two legs despite the Super Eagles striker getting on the scoresheet at Stamford Bridge.
The following season, Adarabioyo suffered another heartbreak as the Citizens lost to the Blues and in the 2016-2017 showpiece, Tom Dele-Bashiru couldn't inspire City to get one over their rivals.
Though the aforementioned players have all moved on to pastures new after making their first team debuts, they would be delighted to see Manchester City end their poor record against Chelsea in the FA Youth Cup finals.
Exciting winger Samuel Edozie was in the Manchester City matchday squad in Monday's clash with Chelsea but was a non-playing substitute, while Tino Anjorin and Bryan Fiabema tasted action for the London team.
Manchester City's scorers were McAtee, Rogers and Palmer, while Lewis and Harwood-Bellis (OG) found the net for Chelsea.
