'Sierra Leone Is A Difficult Place To Go To' - Yobo Warns Super Eagles Ahead Of Trip To Freetown
Published: November 09, 2020Nigeria assistant coach Joseph Yobo has urged the Super Eagles players to settle for nothing less than three points when they face off against Sierra Leone in a 2021 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier on Friday, adding that the Leone Stars will be a difficult nut to crack next week in Freetown.
"Big game, we expect big performance and very good result. Looking at it if we have to do the mathematics, then probably four points will get us through but when you play at home it is crucial, it is so important to play very well and to take the three points," Yobo said to Super Eagles TV.
"Away from home, we always know Sierra Leone, especially, is a difficult place to go to."

Yobo recollected with pride that he scored
the game-winning goal the last time the Super Eagles faced Sierra Leone
in an away match - a World Cup qualifier on June 7, 2008.
"If I can remember correctly the last time we were away in an AFCON or World Cup qualifying game to Sierra Leone was 2008 and it was very difficult, someone told me that I scored the winner, the only goal, so it's a difficult place to go to but football has also changed.
"The first game is what is important, I try not to bother too much about the second game, all we have at this moment is the first game at home so we need to play very well and our performance will get us the three points I believe."
Gernot Rohr's team lead Group L of the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers with six points while their next opponent Sierra Leone have one point from their home draw with Lesotho on matchday one.
