Super Eagles Star Osimhen Wearing A Shoulder Sling, Scheduled To Undergo MRI Scan Today
Published: November 14, 2020Allnigeriasoccer.com has been told that Napoli striker Victor Osimhen is scheduled to undergo further tests to determine the severity of the injury he suffered during the second half of Nigeria's 4-4 draw against Sierra Leone on Friday evening.
The Super Eagles number 9 had to make way for Racing Genk's Paul Onuachu with 12 minutes remaining due to the ailment.
Nigeria's medical team and manager Gernot Rohr have diagnosed the injury as a shoulder-related problem and the initial prognosis would see him sidelined for a minimum of two weeks.
The Nigeria Football Federation want a second medical opinion ahead of the trip to Freetown, as a result, Nigeria's most expensive player in history is scheduled to undergo a magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scan in Benin City in the coming minutes.
Before Osimhen's visit to the medical experts, he was spotted wearing a shoulder sling this morning and this more or less confirms that the probability of him returning to the pitch in three days time is pretty slim.
The 21-year-old has been the Super Eagles most influential player in the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers, having contributed to exactly eighty percent (4 goals, 4 assists) of the goals scored by the national team, and losing him would be a big blow to the team.
