PSV Jewel On The Radar Of Nigeria Reveals He's Learning From German World Cup Winner
Published: November 15, 2020PSV Eindhoven rising star Nonso Madueke has revealed that he's learning from 2014 World Cup winner Mario Götze how to become a better player.
Despite competing with more experienced attack-minded players such as Götze, Donyell Malen, Eran Zahavi, Cody Gakpo, Mohamed Ihattaren, the Tottenham Hotspur Academy product has played every single league game contested by PSV in the new season.
Madueke has been one of the breakout stars of the Dutch Eredivisie this term with a hand in seven goals (4 goals, 3 assists) so far.
An England youth international, he has the option to represent either the Three Lions or Super Eagles and it is believed the Nigerian Football Federation are keeping tabs on his performance with a view to a call up to the national team.
"A really fantastic boy and a very good football player," Madueke said on Götze, according to Omroep Brabant.
"Everyone sees that of course. He teaches me to keep my own game a bit simpler sometimes, because now and then I still try too difficult things, while the solution is much simpler."
A winger and attacking midfielder by trade, London-born Maduke joined PSV Eindhoven in the summer of 2018 after turning down a scholarship at Tottenham.
