Every Word Rohr Said On Expectations For Sierra Leone Match, Osimhen, Injury Update
Published: November 16, 2020Nigeria manager Gernot Rohr was on media duties shortly after the end of Monday evening's training session at the Siaka Stevens Stadium in Freetown.
The Franco-German gave an update on injuries and Victor Osimhen, discussed his expectations for the game and has a message for Super Eagles fans who are disappointed after the dramatic draw with the Leone Stars three days ago.
Here's everything Rohr said to Super Eagles TV :
Gernot Rohr we are counting down to the game against Sierra Leone. It's the other fixture Nigerians are looking forward to. What are your expectations?
"The expectations are to make a good match, we discovered here the conditions of the stadium - the grass, also the hot weather.
"The traveling was okay, a little bit long but I think we can recover tomorrow afternoon.
"Of course, the objective all the time is to win the game, we wanted to have four points in the two matches to be qualified, it is still possible.
"I believe in my team, I think we can do that, it will be difficult like I told you already before the match, we saw it in the second half that they have a good team but we can play very well, we showed it in the first 40 minutes the other day.
"We want to play like this our football, playing forward, scoring goals but defending better than we did the last day."
So what are you going to say to Nigerians now ahead of tomorrow, are you giving them message of hope?
"Of course we are confident, they can believe that the players will fight for all Nigerian supporters and they will give the best.
"We are ready for this match, we miss Osimhen of course, perhaps another changing of the team but the players who have the honour to represent the country tomorrow will give the best, they will fight until the end of the match. "
Any injury worries?
"No, only this one from Osimhen, unfortunately we'll miss him for a long time but other players are here to come in."
