Rohr Reacts To Iheanacho's Disallowed Goal In The Second Half Against Leone Stars
Published: November 17, 2020One of the talking points from Nigeria's goalless draw with Sierra Leone on Tuesday evening was Kelechi Iheanacho's disallowed goal in the second half.
The Super Eagles would have snatched all three points had the referee not ruled out the Leicester City striker's headed effort in the 62nd minute for offside.
Manager Gernot Rohr did not want to be drawn into the debate whether the referee made the right call and chose to praise his players for working hard to earn a share of the spoils.
"I don't know if the goal was offside or not, but we tried, we tried to play well on this difficult pitch and congrats to the players," Rohr said.
"They showed that they can fight together and play a goalless draw away".

Nigeria have scored only one goal in three matches without the influential Victor Osimhen in the starting lineup since the conclusion of the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations.
During that time, the 2015 U17 World Cup winner has contributed to nine (5 goals, 4 assists) of the fourteen goals netted by the three-time African champions.
