Anjorin Reminds Everyone Of His Quality With Brace But Chelsea Lose 7-Goal Thriller
Published: November 18, 2020Chelsea crashed out of the Papa John's Trophy on Wednesday evening following their 4-3 loss to Bristol Rovers at the Memorial Stadium in Gloucestershire, allnigeriasoccer.com reports.
An enthralling contest saw the Blues come from two goals behind to level at 3-3 but they suffered heartbreak in the final minute when The Pirates wing-back Josh Hare powered home a header to deny the visitors a share of the spoils.
The goal flow started in the tenth minute when Brandon Hanlan put Bristol Rovers ahead but their lead lasted a minute as Faustino Anjorin leveled matters with a low finish.
Nicholson on 15 minutes and Westbrooke at minute 57 found the net to put Bristol Rovers 3-1 up but goals from Marcel Lewis and Anjorin again in the 63rd and 68 minute respectively put Chelsea back into contention to secure a win only for Andrew Myers side to concede right at the death.
Anjorin netted his second of the evening when a strike from Henry Lawrence deflected off him before entering the net.
The Anglo-Nigerian winger showed today that he has not lost his quality despite missing the start of the season through injury.
Including his strike against Derby County in the Premier League 2, he now has three goals to his name for Chelsea youth teams this term.
