Chukwueze Finally Arrives In Villarreal Ahead Of Blockbuster Clash Vs Real Madrid
Published: November 20, 2020Samuel Chukwueze has finally returned to Spain after international duty with the Super Eagles in an Africa Cup of Nations qualifying match against Sierra Leone, allnigeriasoccer.com reports.
The Nigeria national teamer did not participate in Villarreal's penultimate workout before the visit of La Liga champions Real Madrid to the Estadio de la Cerámica on Saturday afternoon.
Head Coach of the Yellow Submarine, Unai Emery confirmed during today's pre-match press conference that Chukwueze is in contention to feature against Los Blancos and urged him to quickly change his mentality.
The 21-year-old joined his teammates in training on Friday afternoon ahead of the blockbuster clash, after being away for around eleven days due to his commitments with the Super Eagles.
If selected by Emery tomorrow, it would be the fifth time in his career he has faced Real Madrid and his four previous appearances were all starts in the 2018-2019 and 2019-2020 seasons.
Against Getafe in the last game before the international break, Chukwueze was not utilized off the bench and was also not handed minutes in the Europa League fixture vs Maccabi Tel Aviv on November 5.
The Super Eagle got his ninth La Liga goal in his last outing against Real Valladolid.
