Ex-Liverpool Star Reveals The Best Position Of Versatile Leicester City Star Ndidi
Published: December 19, 2020Former Liverpool midfielder Don Hutchison has praised Wilfred Ndidi for his energetic displays and thinks the Nigeria national teamer is the only player in the Leicester City squad that cannot be replaced.
The Foxes number 25 has been deployed as a central defender in at least three Premier League matches this season to cover up for injuries but Hutchison is of the opinion that he thrives more in a holding midfield position.
With Ndidi on the sidelines due to an adductor issue, the results were a mixed bag for Brendan Rodgers' team - winning four matches and losing the same number of games - but they won two straight matches in the Premier League when he returned to action, before losing to Everton in midweek.
Speaking on Premier League Productions' Weekend Warmup, Hutchinson highlighted the importance of Ndidi, saying : "They missed him (Ndidi), wonderful player, he's got great energy, retrieves lot of balls back in midfield.
"He can play a number of positions, played center half midweek, he is best as a holding midfield player, where he can get the ball and do his thing.
"When he's not in the side, it just seems like they've got something missing.
"When Leicester City have got injuries all over the pitch, they have got a deep enough squad to try and cover but when Ndidi gets taken out there is no one like him for Leicester".

Nath Boys product Ndidi is poised to make his second consecutive start in the Premier League when Leicester City face Jose Mourinho's Tottenham Hotspur in the most eye-catching fixture of matchday 14.
