Official : Former Chelsea And Golden Eaglets Winger Akande Inks New Deal With Swansea City
Published: December 21, 2020With a statement on their official website, Championship outfit Swansea City have announced that Nigerian winger Adrian Akande has inked a new contract with the club.
The 2003-born youngster and two other promising teenagers namely Harry Jones and Josh Thomas have signed theirĀ first professional contracts with the Swans.
Just as allnigeriasoccer.com exclusively reported more than seven months ago, Swansea City have confirmed that Akande's deal will run out in the summer of 2023.
He was heavily courted by the likes of Manchester United, West Ham United, Glasgow Rangers and Hoffenheim before joining Swansea City, initially on a scholarship deal.
The former Crystal Palace starlet was a member of the Golden Eaglet squad to last year's U17 Africa Cup of Nations in Tanzania and was named in the provisional squad for the World Cup in Brazil.
He has represented Swansea City in the FA Youth Cup, U18 Professional Development League and Professional Development League this season.
