Photo : 16-Year-Old Striker Of Nigerian Descent Trains With Man Utd First Team Pre-Wolves
Published: December 28, 2020Manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer ran the rule over Nigeria-eligible striker Shola Shoretire ahead of his side's English Premier League meeting against Wolverhampton Wanderers at Old Trafford on Tuesday night.
Manchester United have published their latest training pictures through their official website and Shoretire was pictured training with the first teamers at Carrington.
The 16-year-old qualifies to represent the Red Devils in the Premier League because he is a scholar but is expected to sign his first professional contract with the club before the end of the spring.
Shoretire rubbed shoulders with experienced strikers Odion Ighalo and Edinson Cavani, players approximately twice his age.
Though Solskjaer is unlikely to hand a Premier League debut to the precocious striker, training with the first team stars who have seen it all would aid his development.
Touted as one of the brightest young players at the United Academy, Shoretire has been permanently promoted to the club's U23 side even though he is eligible for the U18s, a testament to how highly rated he is at the club.
He has cemented his place in Manchester United U23s starting XI, with 11 starts in all competitions this season and has scored two goals and has two assists to his name.
