Official : Defender With 150 International Caps Extends Contract With Chelsea
Published: January 25, 2021Chelsea have informed through their official website that 150-capped Norway international Maren Mjelde has extended her contract with the club.
The 31-year-old is now contracted to the Blues until until June 2022, with the club having an option for a further 12 months.
Since joining Chelsea FC Women in January 2017, she has helped them win the Spring Series, two Women's Super League titles, the FA Cup and the Continental League Cup.
In her first words after signing the new contract, Mjelde said : "I have been here now for four years and it’s been four great years. The team have been developing every year and it’s the best place to be.
"I’m honoured and happy that I got offered a new contract and this is where I want to be"

A defender by trade, Mjelde turned out for Arna-Bjørnar, Turbine Potsdam, Kopparbergs/Göteborg FC and Avaldsnes IL before joining Chelsea.
