Leicester City Midfielder Ndidi Nearing A Return To Fitness After Sustaining Hamstring Injury
Published: February 01, 2021Wilfred Ndidi is nearing a return to fitness after sustaining a hamstring injury, Leicester City boss Brendan Rodgers told reporters at Monday's press conference ahead of his side's trip to Fulham.
The Nigeria international suffered the injury during the first half of Leicester City's 1-1 draw with Everton and had to make way for Nampalys Mendy.
He was not available for selection against Leeds United this past weekend and the game against the Cottagers has come too soon for him.
Providing an update on Ndidi and Jamie Vardy, Rodgers was quoted as saying by Leicester City's official website : "We’re hopeful that Jamie, towards the weekend, won’t be too far away, which will be great news for us. That’s what we anticipate with him.
"Wilf won’t be too much longer after that. It’s just the nature of this season. If you look at how compact the games are and the intensity of them, it’s very, very difficult for players."

Leicester City have lost six matches in the Premier League this season and their influential midfielder Ndidi was not in the squad for five of those games - a testament to his importance to the side.
