Nigerian-Born Midfielder Left Out Of Arsenal's Europa League Squad Knockout Rounds
Published: February 03, 2021Nigerian-born central midfielder Tim Akinola will not make his debut for Arsenal in a European competition this season, allnigeriasoccer.com reports.
The Gunners have submitted their Europa League squad list to Europe's football governing body, UEFA following the conclusion of the winter transfer market and the highly-rated teenager has been left out of the 21-man roster for the knockout rounds.
As of the round of 32, a club may register a maximum of three new eligible players for the remaining matches in the current competition, and it doesn't matter if they have already played in the competition for another club.
January signings Mathew Ryan and Martin ødegaard, and fit-again striker Gabriel Martinelli have been added to the group.
Though Akinola is an U21 player, he cannot be added to the List B because he has spent less than two years at the Emirates Stadium outfit and the same applies to Joel Ideho who arrived from Ajax Amsterdam last October.

Miguel Azeez, Folarin Balogun, Arthur Okonkwo and Ryan Alebiosu are eligible to be included on Arsenal's List B.
Arsenal will take on Benfica in the Europa League round of 32 on February 18.
