Manchester United's Nigeria-Eligible Striker Banned For Three Games For Violent Conduct
Published: February 07, 2021Netherlands youth international of Nigerian descent Dillon Hoogewerf will miss Manchester United's youth teams next three matches.
Manchester United youth team expert, New Manchester News has informed that Hoogewerf has received a three-game ban from 'non-first team games' by the Football Association as a result of his red card against Burnley last weekend.
The Dutch-Nigerian attacker took the walk of shame in injury time following a skirmish involving a few players and was spotted striking a Burnley player.
The Football Association has reviewed the incident and ruled that he committed an act of violent conduct against the Clarets player.
Hoogewerf was not involved for the U23s in their ten-goal thriller against Blackburn Rovers on Friday and the ban also rules him out of upcoming fixtures against Arsenal U23s and Manchester City U18s.
The former Ajax Amsterdam teen sensation had a good disciplinary record prior to the game against Burnley, having received three yellow cards in 29 games combined in the U18 Premier League, Premier League 2 and FA Youth Cup.
He has been outstanding this season, with a goal involvement of eight (4 goals, 4 assists) in ten U18 Premier League matches.
