Published: February 08, 2021Real Madrid coach Zinedine Zidane has announced his gameday squad for the rescheduled matchday one La Liga fixture against Getafe at the Alfredo Di Stéfano Stadium on Tuesday, starting from 2100 hours.
Nineteen players are part of the group including Spanish midfielder of Nigerian descent Marvin Akinlabi.
Nine first team players in the shape of Sergio Ramos, Dani Carvajal, Lucas Vazquez, Eder Militao, Fede Valverde, Eden Hazard, Rodrygo Goes, Alvaro Odriozola and Toni Kroos are unavailable for selection either through injury or suspension.
To make up the numbers, Zidane has added five youth team players to the squad, with Victor Chust, Miguel Gutierrez, Sergio Arribas and Antonio Blanco also making the cut.
Akinlabi has been training with the first team in the last few days and made his second La Liga appearance against SD Huesca this past weekend, coming off the bench to replace Ferland Mendy for the final 12 minutes.
His senior debut for Real Madrid was against Real Sociedad in September, becoming the first Nigeria-eligible player to feature for Los Blancos in the process.
Defending champions Real Madrid find themselves in third place in the table on 43 points with 13 wins, 4 draws and 4 losses so far.
