Super Eagles striker Olayinka reacts after Slavia Prague shock Ndidi's Leicester City in Europa League
Published: February 26, 2021Super Eagles striker Peter Olayinka was impressive as Slavia Prague progressed to the last 16 of the UEFA Europa League following their shock 2-0 win over Leicester City at the King Power Stadium on Thursday night.
The Slavia Prague number 9, who was so confident ahead of the game, went the distance along with Leicester City holding midfielder Wilfred Ndidi, while Kelechi Iheanacho was ineligible to be fielded after receiving his third caution in the first leg last week.
Olayinka was involved in the build-up to both goals scored by the Czech Republic champions in the second half.
Three minutes after the restart, the ball was launched from the halfway line, the Super Eagle kept it alive and Lukas Provod, with his eye on the ball, swept home majestically after a lovely ball in from Nicolae Stanciu.
Things got worse for the Foxes in the 79th minute as Abdallah Sima sealed the deal when he latched home from outside the box, assisted by Olayinka.
Shortly after the game, Olayinka took to social media to celebrate Slavia Prague's qualification to the next round.
He tweeted : "What a performance! What a team! @slaviaofficial".
Ndidi and his teammates have to dust themselves down pretty quickly as they have a big game coming up against Arsenal this weekend.
They were defensively disappointing against Slavia Prague and didn't create much going forward.
