Iheanacho's brilliant volley, assisted by Ndidi rescues Leicester City against Burnley
Published: March 03, 2021Leicester City missed another chance to go second in the Premier League standings after they were held to a 1-1 draw by Burnley at Turf Moor on Wednesday evening.
For the second game running, Kelechi Iheanacho and fellow Nigeria international Wilfred Ndidi started a top-flight game together.
Four minutes had not even passed when Vydra picked up the ball outside the area, before firing home excellently past Kasper Schmeichel to open the scoring for the Clarets.
Iheanacho put the Foxes back on level terms with a fine finish, sending a superb first-time volley into the net after Ndidi lofted a ball over the Burnley defence.
The goal took his tally for the season to six goals in all competitions and the Super Eagles striker has provided three assists.
Denmark goalkeeper Schmeichel prevented Sean Dyche's team from taking all three points, making up to four brilliant saves before the end of the match.
In a tactical substitution by manager Brendan Rodgers, Iheanacho made way for Marc Albrighton in the 67th minute.
Leicester City are third in the Premier League table with 50 points from 27 matches before hosting Brighton & Hove on Saturday, March 6.
