'Has been one of Fulham's top players' - Palace boss Hodgson praises Lookman
Published: March 04, 2021Manager Roy Hodgson namechecked Ademola Lookman as he spoke about the impact his right-back Joe Ward has had on the Crystal Palace team in recent matches.
The experienced coach agreed that the defender has been the unsung hero, noting that he prevented Lookman and Marcus Rashford from wreaking havoc in the goalless draws against Fulham and Manchester United.
Statistically, Lookman has been Fulham's most decisive player in 2020-2021, contributing to seven of the goals they have scored in the Premier League.
Speaking post-match on Wednesday night, Hodgson replied when asked if Ward was an unsung hero : "Couldn't agree more, he did a great job as well on Sunday.
"Played against two top wingers, Lookman has been one of Fulham's top players and tonight he kept Rashford quiet."
It is all but confirmed that Lookman will play a part when Fulham face Jose Mourinho's Tottenham Hotspur on Thursday evening.
Nigerians have picked Fulham as their second supported team with as many as five Super Eagles-eligible players playing for the first team; Tosin Adarabioyo, Ola Aina, Josh Onomah and Josh Maja being the other players.
