Leeds United, Tottenham, Arsenal, Crystal Palace, Liverpool battling to sign Nigerian midfielder
Published: March 19, 2021At least five English Premier League clubs are set to battle it out in the summer to sign Reading midfielder Michael Olise, who has been named on the Super Eagles standby list for this month's Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.
Football Insider says Leeds United are monitoring the situation of Olise but are aware several top-flight teams are interested in his signature.
The Whites have to see off competition from three of the top six clubs namely Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspur and Liverpool to land the 19-year-old, while Crystal Palace have also been credited with an interest.
Olise is under contract with Reading until the end of next season and the Royals are keen to tie him down to a new contract in order to push up his asking price but the player wants to move on to greener pastures.
A former France U18 international, he is having a fantastic season at Reading, with a goal involvement of 15 (5 goals, 10 assists) in 35 appearances in the Championship.
It is claimed that Olise has an £8 million release clause in his contract with Reading.
