Reading's Super Eagles hopeful Ejaria sets new Championship record for 2020-2021 season
Super Eagles hopeful Ovie Ejaria set a new EFL Championship record for the 2020-2021 campaign during Reading's 1-1 draw with Queens Park Rangers at the Madejski Stadium on Saturday, March 20.

According to football statistics website Whoscored.com, the former Arsenal schoolboy made eight key passes against the Hoops, a record in a Championship match this season.

Ejaria started alongside another Nigeria Football Federation target in Michael Olise in midfield while out-of-favour Super Eagles winger Sone Aluko remained rooted to the bench for the entirety of the game.

The 2017 U20 World Cup winner made his first start for the Royals since March 2, having recovered from a hamstring-related injury that saw him miss back-to-back matches against Sheffield Wednesday and Nottingham Forest.

In 31 appearances in the second-tier of which 30 were starts, Ejaria has averaged 1.8 key passes per game, scored two goals and registered five assists.

He was not in contention to be called up to the Nigeria squad for their upcoming matches against the Republic of Benin and Lesotho this month because his change of nationality has not yet been processed by FIFA.
