Scott Parker delivers Lookman injury update that will delight Fulham and Super Eagles fans
Published: April 08, 2021The injury suffered by Ademola Lookman in Fulham's 3-1 loss to Aston Villa on April 4 is not as bad as first feared, with manager Scott Parker revealing at Thursday's press conference that the RB Leipzig loanee has resumed training ahead of the visit of Wolverhampton Wanderers.
The winger was substituted two minutes into the second half and Parker previously confirmed that he suffered a hamstring-related injury.
Providing a fresh update, Parker suggested that Lookman is now okay, however, it remains to be seen whether or not he will be included in the starting lineup against Wolves.
In quotes relayed by West London Sports, Parker said : "He’s been with the medical team, and he’s now picked up his work. And, yes, it was a slight hamstring (strain)."
Apart from Fulham fans heaving a sign of relief, the news will also delight Nigeria fans as Lookman is a player of interest to Super Eagles coach Gernot Rohr before the start of the 2022 World Cup qualifiers.
The 2017 U20 World Cup winner has applied for a change of association but the request has not yet been granted by FIFA.
