Ex-Everton stars agree Iwobi had the best chance to nick a win for Toffees against Brighton & Hove
Published: April 12, 2021Everton were held to a goalless draw by the Premier League draw specialists Brighton & Hove at the American Express Community Stadium on Monday night.
Graham Potter's side dominated possession, had more shots on target and off target, but could not make the breakthrough.
The Super Eagles playmaker came off the bench to replace Yerry Mina twelve minutes into the second half, and he came closest to scoring the winner right at the end of the game when he unleashed a fierce drive but his effort sailed over the bar.

Alex Iwobi was passed fit to start on the bench against the Seagulls, having missed the penultimate round of matches due to a minor issue.

Speaking on Premier League Productions after the game, former Everton Women goalkeeper Rachel Brown-Finnis and ex-Toffees midfielder Leon Osman agreed that Iwobi had the best chance to win the game for the visitors.
"Bringing on Iwobi was the only obvious choice off the bench for Ancelotti in an attacking sense to change the game," Brown-Finnis said.
"And he was very, very close with that attempt, but only one attempt on target the whole game for Everton."

Osman added : "In the 90th minute having their backs not quite to the wall but certainly haven't been able to spring forward, that was the chance for Everton really.
"Alex Iwobi into that position, you probably expect him to have done better but it wasn't to be, neither team could score, in the end I think both would probably be pleased with a point".
