Mourinho runs the rule over two Nigeria-eligible players ahead of Tottenham's trip to Everton
Published: April 15, 2021Jose Mourinho promoted two Nigeria-eligible youngsters to first team training before Tottenham Hotspur's Premier League clash against Everton at Goodison Park on Friday evening.
At least eight academy stars, including goalkeeper Joshua Oluwayemi and striker Kion Etete, were monitored at close quarters by the respected Portuguese football tactician during Wednesday's workout at Tottenham Hotspur Training Centre in Enfield.
Mourinho was spotted having a chat with Etete and some of the academy players during the training session.
It is confirmed that Oluwayemi also trained with the first team on Thursday, meaning he could be involved in some capacity against Everton as perhaps the '21st man' just as was the case for the recent Premier League matches against Newcastle United and Manchester United.
The 20-year-old Anglo-Nigerian is now Tottenham Hotspur's third-choice goalkeeper, with Alfie Whiteman still recovering from knee surgery.
Etete has shown he has all the tools needed to excel if given an opportunity by Mourinho, with a goal involvement of eleven (8 goals and 3 assists) in his last fourteen matches in the Premier League 2.
Aged 19, the promising attacker made his professional debut for Notts County in an EFL Trophy clash against Newcastle United in October 2018.
