Published: April 17, 2021Nigeria international Semi Ajayi is among seven West Brom players presented with Premier League debut balls, informs the official website of the Baggies.
Ajayi appeared in the English top-flight for the first time this season, making his debut on the opening day loss to Leicester City on September 13.
Introduced in the 2015-16 season, the Premier League debut ball is given to all homegrown debutants who were developed at the academy of a club in English football for three years or more prior to their 21st birthday.
Ajayi had his footballing education at Charlton Athletic before sealing a celebrated move to Arsenal, two months before his 20th birthday, in 2013.
During his Arsenal days, the central defender was an unused substitute for Premier League games on three occasions, against Hull City, Stoke City and Newcastle United in 2014-2015.
The Super Eagle was rewarded with an official Nike match ball held in a personalised, engraved case.
Ajayi has totaled 26 appearances in the Premier League ahead of West Brom's trip to the King Power Stadium, where they face Leicester City in their next game.
Akin Famewo (Norwich City), Nathan Tella (Southampton) and Faustino Anjorin (Chelsea) are the players of Nigerian descent that received Premier League debut balls last term.
