Leicester City target Chelsea striker to provide competition for Iheanacho
Published: April 18, 2021Leicester City are reportedly in the market for a striker capable of providing competition for the ageing Jamie Vardy and Kelechi Iheanacho next season.
The onetime Nigeria Football Federation target has fallen down the pecking order of attackers at Stamford Bridge following the arrival of manager Thomas Tuchel in January, and was on the bench in three of the last four matches played by the Blues in the Champions League.

Transfer market expert Fabrizio Romano has tweeted that England star Tammy Abraham is one of the targets for Leicester City if Chelsea will be open to selling him in the summer.

Foxes boss Brendan Rodgers has not ruled out the possibility of signing a new striker in the future though Iheanacho is beginning to find his feet, four years after his big money move from Manchester City.
The Northern Irishman said earlier this month : "There's no doubt later on down the line once Jamie has finished and
moved on we'll have to have another one, maybe two, so any top club will
want to have more than one and that would always be the case.
"Kelechi, we've seen his development, we've seen his improvement, seen his confidence grow, and as you see him now playing he looks a real threat and he looks like he can score goals."

Iheanacho recently signed a new three-year deal, keeping him at Leicester City until the end of the 2023-2024 season.
